Bob Saroya, M.P. endorses Andrew Scheer for Conservative Leader
At a news conference today, Member of Parliament Bob Saroya (Markham-Unionville) announced his support of Andrew Scheer as candidate for leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.
"Andrew Scheer has impressed me as a strong proponent of Conservative values and a staunch defender of strong fiscal policies,” Said Saroya. “He is the leader that will bring our party together and is best poised to win back seats in the GTA.”
Mr. Saroya was elected to the House of Commons in 2015, after a successful business career. He currently serves as deputy official opposition critic for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and is a member of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immiigration.
“Bob is an enthusiastic defender of Conservative principles., both here in Markham and in Ottawa. I am thrilled to have his support,” Scheer said. “His enthusiasm is contagious and I look forward to working closely with him as we present a positive vision to Canadians here in the GTA.”
With his endorsement, MP Saroya joins 23 Members of Parliament, eight Senators, seven former MPs and 23 MLAs in their support of Andrew Scheer for Conservative Leader.
