Conservatives have a long and proud history of protecting Canada’s environment. We know all too well that a strong economy requires a healthy environment. One need only look around the world to see vivid examples where governments ruin the health and wellbeing of their people by have too little regard for the environment in which they live. We need to ensure that Canadians never have to breathe the toxic air or drink the polluted water that one finds in so many other countries around the world, by identifying the real threats to our environment rather than chasing bureaucratic money-grabs.
As Prime Minister I would encourage strong environmental stewardship by:
- Make it illegal to dump raw sewage into public waterways
