Former M.P. and Minister Hon. Bal Gosal endorses Andrew Scheer for Conservative Leader
At an event this evening at the Dream Convention Centre, to a crowd of about 200 people, former Member of Parliament and Harper government Cabinet Minister Bal Gosal announced his support of Andrew Scheer as candidate for leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.
“I am so pleased to be here tonight to endorse my friend and former colleague Andrew Scheer for leader of our party”, said Mr. Gosal. “Andrew understands the importance of building a Conservative party that is inclusive and unites Canadians from all walks of life. He has a proven track record of working cooperatively, will grow our party while staying true to our Conservative roots. He is the person to beat Justin Trudeau in 2019."
Mr. Gosal was a Member of Parliament (Bramalea—Gore—Malton) from 2011-2015 during which time he served under Prime Minister Harper as Minister of State (Sport).
“I am honoured to have Bal’s support. He is has deep roots in his community, as both a soccer coach and a strong community organizer, and a long-time advocate for engagement in the democratic process. His support will be invaluable as we continue to present our message of fiscal responsibility and principled foreign policy while standing up for families and free speech.”
Mr. Gosal joins 24 MPs, nine Senators, 29 MLAs and MPPs and 12 former MPs supporting Andrew Scheer for Leader of the Conservative Party.
